The Russian Arbitration Association and Ukrainian Arbitration Association signed a Memorandum of Cooperation

On December 25, 2013 the Ukrainian Arbitration Association (UAA) and the Russian Arbitration Association (RAA) signed a Memorandum of long-term cooperation in the development of international and domestic arbitration and the creation of a modern arbitration infrastructure in their jurisdictions.

The Memorandum provides for cooperation and mutual assistance of the parties in promotion in the professional and business community of alternative methods of dispute resolution and, in particular, international commercial arbitration, as one of the most convenient and effective means.

An important aspect of cooperation is promotion of the professional development and training of professionals in the sphere; organization and implementation of joint activities.

The Russian Arbitration Association (www.arbitrations.ru) is a non-profit organization established in April 2013 to assist in the development of arbitration in Russia and CIS countries; promote Russia as the place of arbitration; advance Russian referees at national and international levels; increase the level of Russian lawyers in the sphere of alternative dispute resolution. The RAA acts on the basis of equitable membership of its members and currently comprises over 50 law firms and more than 20 individual experts in the sphere of arbitration.

The Ukrainian Arbitration Association (www.arbitration.kiev.ua) is a non-profit organization established in September 2012, aimed at creation of positive image of Ukraine as the place of arbitration for the resolution of commercial disputes through the development of directions, forms and means of mutually beneficial cooperation between specialists of Ukraine and other countries in the sphere of arbitration; contribution to the improvement and promotion of arbitration in Ukraine; development of international cooperation in the field of arbitration. UAA unites lawyers, irrespective of their belonging to a particular jurisdiction, who are professionally engaged or interested in the practice of dispute resolution in international arbitration.

Members of the Association can be an individual with a law degree, is a specialist in international commercial arbitration or have a professional interest in international commercial arbitration and share the goals and objectives of the Association. Read more
