4th RAA Arbitration Online Competition

Dear colleagues, we are pleased to inform you that the Arbitration Association (RAA), RAA25 and the Higher School of Economics invite students of law faculties from Russia and CIS countries, to participate in the 4th RAA Arbitration Online Competition

The RAA competition is an annual student competition, held as the game trial (moot court). The Competition's unique feature is that the teams and arbitrators can participate in it being in different parts of the world.

The competition is held in two stages:

I. Development of the statement of claim and response to the statement of claim conducting online rounds via video conferencing

  • till March 17 th 2019, the teams send their statements of claim;
  • till April 21 st  2019, the teams send their responses to the statement of claim;
  • since May 13th till June 9 th 2019 - online rounds will take place;
  • June 10 th 2019 – publication of online rounds results.

II.Conference of the RAA Competition and oral hearings will be held in premises of the Higher School of Economics  (9/11, Myasnitskaya str., Moscow):

  • on August 23 rd 2019 - RAA conference for the Competition participants, teams' trainers, arbitrators and everyone interested in international arbitration;
  • from Agust 24th to 25th 2019 -  oral hearings for 24 teams that earned the biggest number of online rounds points.

The competition is held on the basis of the prepared materials of the training case in accordance with с Regulations of Online RAA Arbitration.

The updated Regulations for the 4th RAA Competition will be published on December 17th 2018. The registration of teams is open since December 17th 2018 to March 1st 2019. Materials of the training case will be published on January  21st 2019 .

Teams will be able to register as well as review the Competition Regulations, the RAA Online Arbitration Regulations and training case files on the Competition official website: moot.arbitrations.ru.

Participation in the Contest is free. Expenditures will be incurred only during participation in the Competition oral hearings held on August 24th-25th, 2019.

Winners of the Contest will receive valuable prizes, the best speakers may receive an offer to have an internship in leading law firms.
