We are pleased to announce the change in the UAA Secretariat composition!
After nearly 4 years of holding the position of the UAA Secretary General, Yaroslav Petrov proposed to pass this role to another UAA member. On 21 August 2017, the President of UAA, upon discussion of the candidates with the UAA Board members, appointed Serhii Uvarov as the Secretary General.
Serhii regularly assists in organization of the UAA events with the other arbitration institutions, as well as participates in the activities of the UAA working groups. During his professional career, Serhii Uvarov has been involved in arbitral proceedings under LCIA, SCC, ICC, JAMS, LMAA, ICAC at CCI оf the Russian Federation and ICAC at UCCI Arbitration Rules. His experience includes representation of the Ukrainian state authorities in UNCITRAL arbitration, as well as Ukrainian state companies before foreign courts and international tribunals. He also advised clients on transnational insolvency and receivership, fraud investigation, including anti-bribery probes, as well as recognition and enforcement of foreign judicial and arbitral awards in Ukraine. At the moment, Serhii holds the position of Senior Associate of the Dispute Resolution practice at AVELLUM.

Ukrainian Arbitration Association brings together the whole Ukrainian arbitration community, allows developing arbitration in our country, as well as exchanging experience and international best practices. I hope that in my new role I will contribute to its further development” – Serhii commented.
