UAA has sent its proposals on improving the arbitration legislation of Ukraine to the Commission on Legal Reform

On December 23, 2019, the UAA sent its proposals to the Commission on Legal Reform, in particular, the text of the Draft Law and the Comparative Table with the commentary of the Working Group.

On March 26, 2019, a meeting of the UAA members was held, where the results of the 2017 reform and ways of further improvement of the arbitration legislation of Ukraine were discussed. At this meeting, it was decided to resume the work of Working Group I on improving the arbitration legislation of Ukraine in the field of international arbitration and arbitration proceedings, and directions of work were determined.

During 2019, the Working Group developed its proposals, in particular, on arbitration issues, bringing the text of the Law of Ukraine "On International Commercial Arbitration" in line with the 1985 UNCITRAL Model Law and supplementing it with certain provisions from the 2006 version (for example, on the performance of enforcement measures by the courts, provided by the arbitrators), filling in the gaps in the civil procedural legislation on issues of judicial control and judicial support for international arbitration, etc.
