Ukrainian Arbitration Association Re-elected the President

On 25 November 2020, the General Meeting of Members of the Ukrainian Arbitration Association (UAA) has re-elected Olena Perepelynska (Partner, Head of Arbitration Practice of INTEGRITES) as its President.

The Ukrainian Arbitration Association was founded in September 2012 by the initiative of the Ukrainian and foreign arbitration experts. The key goals of the Association include, first of all, the promotion of Ukraine, and Kyiv in particular, as the seat of arbitration, facilitation and support of interest in international arbitration, extension of knowledge and exchange of experience in cross-border dispute resolution, as well as enhancing cooperation and communications among practitioners in international arbitration around the world.

 

The President of the UAA is elected every 4 years among members of the Association.

 

The President of the UAA Olena Perepelynska is one of the founding members of the Association, member of the UAA Board, elected in 2012 and 2015, and second President of the UAA, elected in 2016.

 

Commenting on her plans for further development of the UAA, Olena mentioned:

 

"It is my sincere belief that UAA plays and should continue playing central role in the development and promotion of arbitration in Ukraine  and promotion of arbitrators, suitable to sit the in Ukraine-related cases. I also believe that Ukraine could become more arbitration-friendly jurisdiction through improvement of its arbitration legislation, court practice, education of different groups of Ukrainian lawyers, both for counsel’s and arbitrators’ work.”

Members of the Association can be an individual with a law degree, is a specialist in international commercial arbitration or have a professional interest in international commercial arbitration and share the goals and objectives of the Association. Read more
